I’m going to say I don’t think he did this right, just how professional was this guy? Your firewood is probably too green, but still, the fittings are supposed to go the other way, for just this reason. I think you have cause to complain to the installer.
EDIT: I see I already have a thumbs down on this answer, so I’m just going to put some references here that agree with me:

For wood stove installation on the crimped end the male end should be pointing downwards go check wood stove installersdoes he did everything else right the crimped end the net and print some of it out to show him there are certifications for wood stove installersdoes he was hope he have one.
