What if I burned a small amount of coal in my wood stove?

Shamrock4751 asked:

What’s the possibility of overheating my wood stove with a few pieces of coal every couple of hours for more heat? My stove has a catalytic converter and nice chimney, so backfumes shouldn’t be an issue.
