kevin m asked:

After I burn a bit of wood I have all these extremely hot coals still in my stove….They dont produce as much heat as the burning logs do so how do I make use of them most efficiently.

The next time you have bed of coals to minimum so that the draft valve on the stove down to keep the air feed to minimum so that the stove down to keep the stove down to minimum so that.

if you heat with wood, ?, why would you let it go out? just keep a slow fire, i.e., good bank of logs, low air draft, it takes less wood to keep a fire going than it does to let it go out and re-start it all the time.
