How do I fix cracks in the metal of a wood stove?

STEPHEN S asked:

Just bought home (not new) that came with a free standing wood stove. The inner firebox and the outer metal of the wood stove both have cracks in the same place that appear large enough for a significant amount of smoke to escape. Can these be welded or fixed somehow or do I need to replace entire stove?

J-B Weld melts at 600 degrees I think. Bad idea.

I don’t know any reason it can’t be welded.
