Chad asked:

When my pipe to my wood stove needed replaced I forgot to by a new damper. The one that was on it is broke. It’s supposed to get real cold tonight and all I have is wood heat. Would it be safe to use the wood stove today and tonight without that damper until I can get to town tomorrow and pick one up?

you can but it will not be very efficient, you will burn twice as much wood and it will always be running wide open and flu pipe will get very hot.they are very inexpensive you should get one.

The fire can consume as you will have no way to control without damper sparks will travel up the stove very.
The chimney more easily creating possible chimney fires.
